HARRISONBURG — High school marching bands from across Virginia will compete in the 13th annual Shenandoah Valley Marching Invitational (SVMI) on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Harrisonburg High School. Hosted by the Harrisonburg High School Marching Blue Streak Band, the SVMI features bands performing shows that combine music, precision marching, color guard routines, dance, and theatrics. Marching bands from Staunton and Waynesboro high schools will be performing, as will Fort Defiance, Stuarts Draft, Wilson Memorial and the Spirt of the Red and Gold (the combined bands from Riverheads and Buffalo Gap).
